My PHP book is finally available!

I've been teaching online PHP courses for over 10 years, and one thing I've always wanted to do is publish a book on PHP programming. Thanks to Steve Hayes at For Dummies I finally got that opportunity! The PHP, MySQL, & JavaScript All-in-One for Dummies book is finally complete and published. It walks the reader through the basics of web page design, then covers the basics of HTML5 and CSS3 coding to create your website. Next it dives into the world of JavaScript, showing how to create dynamic web pages using both JavaScript and the popular jQuery library. After that the book turns its focus to PHP coding, covering all of the basics of PHP version 7, and how to use PHP to create a dynamic server-side web application. Next up is a full discussion on the MySQL database, and of course, how to use it in your PHP programs. The last two minibooks in the book are my favorites. For those who've taken my online PHP courses, these two minibook pick up where my courses left off. They cover how to create object-oriented PHP web applications, and how to create a PHP web application using the popular CakePHP framework package. I hope everyone enjoys the book, and that it helps expand your PHP and JavaScript skills!

LPIC-2 Study Guide finally available

The LPIC-2 Linux Professional Institute Certification Study Guide, 2nd Edition is finally available for purchase! There was somewhat of a delay due to the upcoming exam changes. The book covers both the current version 4.0 and the upcoming version 4.5 of the exam objectives. Christine and I are thankful to the team at LPI for helping us with the advanced copy of the version 4.5 objectives, and grateful to fellow author Bo Rothwell for being gracious in giving us a heads-up on the upcoming changes.

The LPIC-2 exams cover more advanced server topics needed for becoming a Linux system administrator in a larger organization. We hope that this book will help students pass both the 201 and 202 exams, and gain valuable knowledge in Linux system administration!

Updated Python for Raspberry Pi book!

With the changes to the Raspberry Pi 2 device Christine and I decided to update our Teach Yourself Python Programming for Raspberry Pi in 24 Hours book. We've added more content to cover the changes to the Pi 2, plus fixed many of the typo's from the first edition. The Pi 2 is much more powerful than the original Pi devices, so you can do lots more things with your Python programs!
